What New Retro Handheld Consoles Are Coming in Early 2026?

After several years of rapid growth, the retro handheld market seems to have hit a plateau this year. PowKiddy has gone quiet with no major announcements, the AYN Odin Thor has exploded in popularity (though rising memory prices are becoming a concern) and other manufacturers are steadily pushing forward. 😕

That’s exactly why 2026 feels like a year of huge transition for the retro handheld scene.

Alright, enough buildup, let’s dive into the upcoming releases! 🙌

.TrimUI Brick Pro (Coming Soon)

Following the design language of the TrimUI Brick, the TrimUI Brick Pro upgrades the experience with dual analog sticks. Based on early preview videos, it appears capable of running PS2 titles like God of War, which strongly suggests it will be an Android-based handheld.

So far, it’s only been shown in black and white color options. We’ll need to wait for official confirmation from TrimUI for full specifications and release details.

.Anbernic RG Vita / Vita Pro (Coming Soon)

As the name suggests, the Anbernic RG Vita takes clear inspiration from the iconic PlayStation Vita. Some review videos are already circulating.

The standard version reportedly continues using the T618 chipset platform from previous generations, with minimal changes beyond the exterior design. The big question remains: will it offer meaningful compatibility with PS Vita titles? That’s still uncertain.

As for the RG Vita Pro, specifications haven’t been officially revealed yet, but we expect more information soon.

.MINILOONG Pocket 1

Every year, the retro market seems to produce a surprise contender, and the MINILOONG Pocket 1 might be one of them.

At first glance, its design and display give off serious high-end Android handheld vibes. However, it’s powered by the RK3566 chipset, which may feel underwhelming for some users.

That said, the screen is impressive and not bad: 4-inch IPS display with 960×720 resolution. It also has replaceable front panels and interchangeable D-pad modules allow personalized styling and varied tactile feedback for different gaming preferences. If you are die-hard fan of retro gaming devices, this device is definitely worth considering.

We've now put it on store with free shipping and quality assurance. Feel free to check it out: https://shorturl.at/OHm0r

March is almost here, and we’re excited to see how 2026 reshapes the retro handheld landscape. 🤔

Anyway, thank you for your continued support of litnxt! ❤️🎮
